What is answer engine optimization?
Answer engine optimization, or AEO, is the work of making a page usable as a source when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or a Google AI Overview — not only when they click a blue link. SEO gets you found. AEO gets you cited.

01
How an answer gets assembled
A search results page lists links. An answer engine reads pages, picks the ones it trusts, and writes a response. Thin pages, undated claims, and copy that never states the point in the first paragraph rarely get used.
The pages that get cited say the answer up front, name the real thing (the service, the city, the method), and back it with structure a model can parse: headings, short paragraphs, and a question with a direct reply.

What we actually change
From Atlanta, we treat AEO as part of the same loop as SEO. Signal is the question buyers ask out loud. Shape is the page that should answer it. Ship is the publish — a clear first paragraph, honest headings, internal links, and structured data. Study is whether search and answer engines mention you. Scale is the next question, not a one-time blog blast.
- One question per page, answered in the opening paragraph
- Technical health so the page can be fetched and understood
- Facts a model can repeat without inventing a client or a price
- Links between the explainer and the service it belongs to

Where this sits at Loop Theory
AEO is not a separate product from search. It is how the SEO/AEO practice writes. If a page ranks and nobody follows up, that is still not a win — growth and automation have to catch the demand.
